Wed Mar 28 | 12:00-13:00 | Boris Hristov House of Culture
Moderated by Carolelinda Dickey, co-founder and co-director, American Dance Abroad
Securing funding for the projects of American dance artists and companies is a unique and challenging process, given the lack of U.S. government support in our field. Nevertheless, the entrepreneurial spirit of American artists empowers them to pursue their goals to perform and tour, both domestically and abroad. Ana Maria Alvarez (choreographer, CONTRA-TIEMPO), Carolelinda Dickey, Alex Hyman (company manager, Kate Wallich + The YC), and Douglas Sonntag (former director of dance at the National Endowment for the Arts), will discuss the creative ways in which dance projects are funded.
